Just as Structured
Query Language (SQL) is the industry standard database
language which, at some level, operates in much of our
information world, Crystal Reports®
is an an industry standard application for building
reports and visualizing that information. Often,
third-party companies will build an end-user application
which include an embedded Crystal Reports®
engine that allows each user to design their own hard
copy reports to meet their own requirements.
A Custom Crystal Report for a Court
Docket
OBTS is an Criminal Justice
Database maintained by The Florida Association of Clerks
and
Comptrollers. Typically, to prepare for a contempt
court session, a Wakulla Deputy clerk would generate a
printout of the upcoming docket and record (or research)
each defendant's payment history and pencil that
information onto the printout in the month leading up to
the court session. The information that the
Wakulla County Clerk's office wanted was
there, but
not arranged in the way needed for their contempt
dockets and certainly not on one printout. Cypress
Software configured the appropriate backend queries to
pull out the appropriate data and formatted it with
Crystal Reports XI so that the Deputy Clerk had an
alphabetically arranged list of defendants who were in
contempt based on court date and type of court.
The report indicated the most recent payment amount and
date for each defendant as well as totaling the number
of cases and defendants in contempt, no matter how many
aliases were involved.
A Custom Crystal Report for a Fuel Tracking
Application
FuelMaster Plus®
is a fixed point fueling tracking application which
provides a software interface to fuel inventories and
usage. It comes with a set of "canned" Crystal
Reports as well as an embedded Crystal Reports engine.
Using specifications from the Franklin County (Florida)
Road Department, Cypress Software created a custom
Crystal Report which summarizes fuel usage in a format
required by the county finance department.

A Custom Crystal Report for a
the
Florida Second Judicial Circuit
Certain aspects of county
government are provided software support by the
Florida Association of Clerks and Comptrollers (FACC).
This includes, among other things, an In Court
Processing System (ICPS) which is a Windows based
application which utilizes an SQL server. The
court room process was streamlined by the addition a
custom Crystal Report which allows for ICPS data to be
formatted and printed out for appropriate judicial
signatures, bypassing the traditional form/typewriter
system.
